Thank you for your interest in the Harmony — that's a fair question, and the answer comes down to what each cover is for.
The indoor hood cover is purely decorative. Many of our features, especially the wall-mounted styles, have an open hood top. If the feature can be viewed from above — beneath a balcony, near a stairway — you can see the distribution, light bar, and other mechanics inside. The indoor cover is a cap that closes that off for a finished look. It offers no protection of any kind.
The outdoor hood cover is built to shield those same components from rain and debris, which is what accounts for the difference in price. (Even outdoors, we recommend a semi-protected spot when possible — under an awning or a covered porch)
Our freestanding features, including the Harmony River, are built with closed hood tops. Viewed from above, the top is already clean and decoratively finished, so there's nothing an indoor hood cover would add — that's why it isn't listed. The outdoor hood cover is still available if the feature is headed for an exposed location.
