I'm sorry the website has been hard to navigate. We appreciate you letting us know, and I'm happy to help point you in the right direction.
Outdoor use: Good news: all of our water features, including the Cascade Springs, can be used both indoors and outdoors. For wall-mounted features, we recommend a semi-protected spot such as a covered porch or under an awning. If there's any chance the top of the hood will be exposed to rain, weather, or debris, we recommend adding our outdoor hood cover. It sits on top of the hood and keeps water and debris out of the distribution and lighting, which helps keep the water flow consistent.
A couple of things to keep in mind outdoors:
- Freezing temperatures: If temperatures in your area drop below freezing, drain all the water from the feature and let it dry for a week or two before the first freeze. Please don't add antifreeze or any freeze-prevention chemicals, as these can damage the feature. Draining it is the best way to avoid freeze damage.
- Finish and sun exposure: All of our decorative trim is powder coated and holds up well outdoors. As with anything kept outside, years of UV exposure may cause slight discoloration on some components over time. That's normal wear and nothing to be concerned about.
A modern look: One of the best things about how we build our water features is that once you've picked a size or model, we can pair water surfaces and trim to create almost any style, from sleek and contemporary to traditional and rustic. For a modern wall-mounted feature, some great options include:
- Trim: Stainless steel or one of our several black trim options
- Stone surfaces: Clean, modern-looking stones such as Viscon White or Spider Marble
- Mirror: Silver mirror, plus other mirror variations available as a custom quote
- Clear glass: A very contemporary wall-mounted option available through our custom division
